Nature takes its course

El Blauet (Kingfisher), our flying explorer, will guide you on his favourite journey. He looks a little like a real kingfisher, the star of the riverside woodland – and yes, he really does know it like the back of his hand. With him you’ll immerse yourself in nature in its purest state along the river Ebre, offering you a radically different point of view.

Because, as you float gently downstream, everything looks quite different from the kayak. This isn’t just an outdoor activity – it’s an educational experience with a local guide, a chance for you to really get to know the flora and fauna of the area, as well as its history. With the aid of binoculars, he’ll tell you all about the features of the different birds, the traditional way of transporting goods along the river (the sirgadors or boatmen) and the importance of the Ebre in the bloodiest battle of the Spanish Civil War.

One of Blauet’s best friends, our explorer La Garnatxeta, will take you to match the kayak trip with wine and olive oil tasting at a winery beside the river.

ITINERARY
Get ready for a journey in the natural surroundings of the river Ebre from a completely different point of view, guided by explorer El Blauet, our nature expert. Immerse yourself in the Ribera d’Ebre area as you let yourself drift downstream.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN MÓRA D’EBRE.
Arrival in Móra d’Ebre. Bed and breakfast at a local hotel.

DAY 2: WINE & KAYAK.
Start the day by climbing into a kayak and float gently downstream in a very special place near Móra d’Ebre. You’ll find out about the history of the area with your guide, before landing in Ginestar. Savour the wines and olive oils made beside the river!

DAY 3: BIRDWATCHING FROM THE KAYAK.
With our explorer El Blauet, get back into your kayak to enjoy the river from the village of Garcia. You’ll discover a very different stretch of river, guided by your bird expert, an amazing biodiversity hidden in the riverside woodland which you’ll see in the very different way from the water. But be respectful – this is their home!
