Description

Ilercavonia – Iberian inhabitants

This is without a doubt a fascinating journey through history, going back over 2,000 years. Our explorer, La Saberuda, will plunge you into it, to find out about the history of the Ilercavones, the inhabitants who gave a name to the peninsula where we live. They called it Iberia, land of rabbits, one of their favourite dishes.

Setting out on foot (you don’t need a car!) of the Mas de l’Illa, the accommodation where you’re based, you can walk through the riverside woods to get to the site of Kum, one of the most important Iberian towns in Catalonia and the first place on the Iberian peninsula to use coins as a form of payment.

To find out even more about this history of the place, the local geologist will take you on a walk in the mountains of Tivissa to reveal all the secrets and stories concealed among the rocks.

A journey in time through archaeology, geology and local produce.
