Enjoy the grape harvest in the Priorat wine region

Short break to enjoy the  impressive wine landscape of the Priorat, take part in the grape harvest and savour the wines of the two appellation of origin, DOQ Priorat and DO Montsant. The weekend begins with a whole day to enjoy the grape harvest in an organic vineyard, and tasting the wines of the DOQ Priorat, in Poboleda. You will stay in a rural accommodation in the Priorat area (depending on room availability) to participate on Sunday in a half day walk in Cornudella, tasting the wines of the DO Montsant.

Whole day activity to learn close up and experiment with the grape harvest. We will begin the day walking from the village of Poboleda, located at the side of the river Siurana, following the old path that linked the village with Porrera. We will walk by the side of the Comadecases creek to get to the organic vineyards of the cellar Burgos-Porta, now in the middle of the grape harvest. We will learn how to harvest the grapes, and let’s cut some bunches of grapes!

After touching grapes and more grapes, we will savour the fruit of last year’s harvests, doing a wine tasting. We will eat our picnic among the vineyard and, afterwards, we will follow the process once the bunches of grapes enter the cellar. And we will finish savouring a freshly made grape juice.  

With the smell of the grape harvest we will walk back to the village of Poboleda.

WALK TO THE SANT JOAN DEL CODOLAR CHAPEL, AT THE FOOTHILLS OF MONTSANT. Walk at the foothills of Montsant Natural Park with wine tasting of the Montsant appellation of origin (DO).
Mystic walk from Cornudella to the foothills of Montsant, to the magic spot of Sant Joan del Codolar, where Montserrat still lives following the eremitic lifestyle. We will learn about the importance of the sacred mountain to this hidden wine region, as well as it geological formation and its influence on the wines. We will finish the morning with a wine tasting at a local winery, savouring our territory.
