Llaberia mountain range and the mountains of Tivissa-Vandellòs are also known as Mestral mountain ranges (from the wind called mestral, a wind from the north very strong in winter months). They are really very unknown even by Catalan people, but so near to the coast and to soo many people laying on the beach. Their peaks and ridges offer great views over the cultivated plains and the coast.

It is a territory of strong contrasts, with rocky and dry landscapes blown by the north winds in winter, but also hidden spots of great beauty, cool, wet and with lushious vegetation. The legend of the Dip (the vampire dog) and the history of the guerrilla fighter Carrasclet bring mystery to this mountains. Be careful if you walk alone at night!

A visit to this coastal mountains will let you enjoy the views over the whole country, from the Pyrenees to Els Ports and the Ebre Delta, from the coast to the interior.
